Foghat – A Great English Classic Rock Band

Foghat is a great English classic rock band founded in London in 1971, best known for their 1975 hit single Slow Ride (named the 45th best hard rock song of all time by VH1 in 2009), the lead single of their fifth studio album entitled Fool for the City which was released on 15 September 1975. Slow Ride is the band’s highest-selling Billboard single (it was also certified Gold in New Zealand). Throughout the passage of time, Foghat released 17 studio albums, 9 live albums, 8 compilations, and 19 singles. Their music is a mixture of boogie rock, blues rock, and hard rock. They were initially musically active between 1971 and 1984. Since 1993, they have been performing again. The group went through several line-up changes throughout the passage of time as well.

This line-up of the band consisted entirely of founding members. Another important note: drummer Roger Earl is the only constant founding member in any line-up of the band throughout the passage of time. Image source: Wikimedia Commons

Below you can listen to the great classic Slow Ride embedded via YouTube. Thank you very much for your time, attention, and readership! All the best and rock on! 🙂 🤘

Additionally, you can also listen to another, early successful single by Foghat (taken from their eponymous debut album), more specifically I Just Want to Make Love to You (which is actually a Willie Dixon cover). This single was released in 1972 and is mighty fine! It was the band’s first single to chart quite well (and rightfully so, as you can discover below, in case you haven’t yet listened to it).
